Yes, it says 'Frascati' on the label, and at one point Frascati typified the problems with Italian white wines: insipid, dull, why bother. Casale Marchese Frascati is entirely another creature: fresh, deliciously drinkable, subtly but distinctly aromatic, perfect everyday white wine. Roman food is the new thing, and this is what you should be drinking with it, particularly at this price.
While the property dates back to the middle ages, the Casale Marchese estate is currently owned by the Carletti family (since 1713); Alessandro and Ferdinando Carletti are the 5th generation making wine. Covering about 120 acres just south of Rome in the Tusculo hills, the family farms mostly olive trees as well as the indigenous grape varieties used to make the local Frascati. Working with 40 year old vines grown in ancient volcanic soils, the Carletti brothers take great care in the vineyard to produce the highest quality DOC Frascati possible.
