Importing Fine Italian Wines Since 1994
"I import Italian wines that are cleanly-made, not overly oaky, and very distinctive in character, and I avoid wines that are 'international' in style. Discovering and importing wines made from Italy's enormous range of native grape varieties is a constant pleasure for me."

New Arrivals
- 2007 Colle Stefano Verdicchio di Matelica - the Colle Stefano '07 Verdicchio di Matelica shows the same combination of fruit, herbal notes, and mouthwatering Granny Smith acidity that the '06 had. This is an amazing white wine for the money, and organically grown to boot!
- 2007 Vallevò Cerasuolo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Rosé - this '07 rosé is salmon-colored, meaty and substantial, bone dry, and one of the best values in my book. (The Trebbiano '07, another recent arrival, is equally good.)
- 2006 Germano Langhe Nebbiolo - Sergio Germano's delicious '06 Langhe Nebbiolo is back in stock.
- Sella Orbello 2006 - The Sella 'kitchen sink' blend, Orbello, is back in stock with the '06 vintage. Get some before we drink it all.
- Sella Lessona 2003 - The '03 Lessona is here, and it's an irresistible Nebbiolo. Quite different from Barolo, this wine is minerally yet very forward and inviting.
- Elio Grasso 2004 Barolos - Elio Grasso and his son Gianluca go from strength to strength. Their '04 Barolos (Ginestra and Gavarini) are outstanding, and very limited in supply.
*Our Italian wine business is up 40% this year. Thank you all for your business!
News
- June 13, 2008 - Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher from the Wall Street Journal reviewed Arneis and gave big kudos to Marco Porello, calling his 2007 Arneis "Best of Tasting and Best Value" after sampling wines from the most famous producers in Piedmont.
Marco Porello Arneis 'Camestri' 2007 (Roero)
"Best of Tasting and Best Value. Nutty, rich and easy to drink, with real character. Earthy and dry, with ripe fruit held in check by well-integrated acids. Thoughtful and balanced. We liked the 2006 equally." Read the entire review here.
- June 2008 - Wine & Spirits Magazine chose the Thurnhof Lagrein as one of their June wines of the month.
Thurnhof Lagrein Merlau 2006 (Sudtirol)
"Firm and concentrated, this tastes of mulberries and savory wild herbs. The wine's inky color is matched by gunpowder smokiness, and the result is supple and delicious. A balanced and engaging expression of the Italian Alps. Try this with venison." -Wolfgang Weber (View PDF)
